february 2013, i got job for troubleshooting cathodic protection system. Last engineer has designed the cathodic system for underground hydrant pipe. He calculated the system need 11 pcs chromium anode and he spread it. when i calculated,i got only need 1 pc chromium anode. When i energized the transformer rectifier, the trafo needed more than 30 Ampere. In my calculate the system just need less than 10 Ampere.
my first asumme was the pipe contact grounding system. I and pipeline engineer tried to disconnect but we could not. I tried to calculated again with any asummtion and i got the cathodic system not need current more than 20 Ampere.
finally i just put 2 pcs chromium anode and cathodic protection system can work properly.
